RECENT SCORES

vintage goodness, all from the rubbish chaz:

a crochet granny blanket: what i love about this is the colours, they're muted, not harsh. they have a 1940s, boy scout jumble sale feel. slurry, mustard, rose, beige. and it was only £3.50. have you seen what crochet blankets are going for on ebay these days?

vintage abaci:
look at these gorgeous abaci! (yes, apparently abaci is the plural of abacus. latin, innit.) after the children snapped the strut of one of these to get the beads off, they're pretty much decoration these days. so gorgeous, it's the muted tones again, and the wood. see how happily it sits with the teak of the g-plan dining table?

wool blanket:
i adore this blanket, the colours, the scratchiness. it's 50s i think. it's rare to get really old stuff in the rubbish chaz, it's more like full of last season's primark and matalan. but there it was, calling to me.
