Coming soon - Art Deco era Alfred Meakin "Verdi" sets

This is by Alfred Meakin, a pottery founded in 1875 in Staffordshire, England. The maker's mark features a crown with the words "Alfred Meakin England" in a scroll, which dates the set as circa 1937. The set features a quintessentially Deco era pattern of greens, blacks and greys in rectangular and square formations around the edges, and the shape used is Meakin's "Medina" shape. The serving dish has a gap in the lid to rest a serving spoon in. Two sets featuring a lidded serving dish, one dinner plate and one oval serving platter coming shortly to the shop at www.londonvintage.co.
